In defense of the local shop
If you’ve had the same repro shop for fifteen years, they know your firm’s title block, they’ve bailed you out on a Friday at 4:45, and they’ll scan a mylar from 1987 without blinking. That relationship is worth something, and nothing on this page argues otherwise.
They also do things we don’t: large-format scanning, mounting, foam-core boards, banners, presentation graphics. If a job touches any of that, that’s your shop.
Where an online printer earns its place
Predictable pricing. Every per-sheet price is on our site. No “let me work up a quote,” no surprise rush line on the invoice. A 24-sheet ARCH D set is $48. Every time.
Shipped sets and job-site delivery. The set goes straight to the trailer, the building department, or the sub’s office. You never touch it. For distributed teams and multi-site projects, that’s the workflow.

Local overhead — retail space, staff on the floor, a range of equipment for scanning, mounting, and graphics that plan-set printing alone doesn't need. You're paying for capability and immediacy. We run one facility focused on plan sets and reach customers by UPS, so the per-sheet cost is lower.
