Construction document printing
From the conformed set at contract award to the as-builts at closeout, the drawings get printed, marked up, destroyed, and reprinted for months. We keep the file on hand so every reprint is one click.
Sets we print during construction
- Conformed set — the CD set with all addenda incorporated, issued at award. Usually 4–6 copies for the GC, owner, architect, and major subs. These live through the job; ask about heavier stock if they'll see hard use.
- Field / trailer sets — the working drawings. Full size, rolled or folded. Reprinted as sheets get destroyed — one-click from your saved file, so a fresh set is $48 not a phone call.
- Trade sets — a sub's discipline sheets only (M, E, P, S). Cheaper than a full set for each trade.
- Bulletins / ASIs / RFIs with sketches — revised sheets to every set holder, numbered and logged.
- Shop drawing review sets — fabricator drawings printed for the architect's markup; often ARCH D or ledger.
- As-built / record drawings — 1–2 archival sets; heavier bond or mylar available on request for institutional records.
Field sets: reprint, don't over-spec
A field set gets unfolded fifty times, rained on, and drawn on with a carpenter's pencil. The practical answer isn't expensive paper — it's a cheap reprint. At $2.00 a sheet on 20# bond with the file saved to your account, replacing a destroyed sheet or a whole set is a one-click reorder that ships the same day. If a job genuinely needs heavier stock or mylar, request a quote and we'll run it as a specialty job.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between a conformed set and a CD set?
The CD set is what was issued for bid. The conformed set is the same drawings with every addendum and bid-phase change incorporated, so the construction team works from one clean set instead of a base set plus a pile of addenda. Same sheet count, cleaner.
Can you print just the structural sheets for the steel sub?
Yes. Upload the full PDF once, then order the page range you need — or upload a trade-specific PDF as its own item. Tell us the sheet list in the notes if you want us to pull pages.
Rolled or folded for a field set?
Rolled, usually. Field sets get spread on a plan table; creases become tears. Rolled sets ship in a heavy tube and lie flat after a few minutes. Fold only if the site needs them in a binder.
Do you print as-builts on mylar or heavier bond?
Yes, as specialty jobs — email info@ecblueprints.com with sheet count and size and we'll quote. Standard 20# bond stored flat is fine for most 5–10-year archival needs; mylar for permanent institutional records.
