East Coast Blueprints vs Plans4Less

Short version: Plans4Less is a good online shop and they're about 25¢ per sheet cheaper on ARCH D. We have a later cutoff (noon vs 11 AM ET), a Northeast location that reaches NJ/NY/PA next-day by Ground, free shipping over $100, and an owner you can actually reach. If you're in the Northeast and value predictability, we're the better fit; if you're purely price-shopping a large flat order, they may edge us.

The honest framing

Plans4Less is a legitimate, well-run online blueprint printer. Most comparison pages on the internet exist to tell you the other guy is worse. This one doesn’t, because on straight per-sheet price they’re a little cheaper than we are and you’d find that out in five minutes anyway.

So here’s what actually differs.

Where Plans4Less wins

Per-sheet price on ARCH D. $1.75 versus our $2.00 as of September 2026. On a 100-sheet order with no shipping difference, that’s $25.

Color. Their published full-color ARCH D is $3.75 against our $6.00. If your work is mostly color renderings or color-coded MEP sets, that gap is real and you should weigh it.

Longer track record online. They’ve been shipping plan sets nationally for years and their reviews reflect it.

Where we win

The cutoff. Noon Eastern here. Their published cutoff is 11 AM on some pages (2 PM on others — confirm). If your drafter hits “export” at 11:20, that hour is the difference between shipping today and tomorrow.

Proximity to the Northeast. We’re in Cape May County, NJ. UPS Ground from here is next business day to all of New Jersey, New York City, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, eastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, and most of Maryland. A shop shipping from farther away needs two Ground days to reach the same addresses — or you pay for Next Day Air. For a Tuesday permit deadline, Ground-next-day at $15 flat beats air at $45+.

Free shipping over $100. Most permit and bid sets clear $100. That often erases the per-sheet gap on the delivered total.

No minimum, so the test is cheap. Order a single ARCH D sheet for $2.00 plus shipping, put a scale rule on it, and decide with the print in your hand.

A phone that reaches the owner. (929) 464-5714. If a set is wrong, you’re not opening a ticket.

Run both carts

Seriously — put your actual order into both sites and compare the delivered total and the arrival date, not the per-sheet headline. For Northeast firms with real deadlines, we think that comparison favors us. For a large, flexible, far-away order, it may not, and that’s fine.

Frequently asked questions

Is Plans4Less cheaper than East Coast Blueprints?

On a per-sheet basis, yes by a small margin — their published ARCH D price was $1.75 versus our $2.00 when we checked in September 2026. On a 24-sheet set that's $42 versus $48. Where the total can flip is shipping: we ship free over $100 with a $15 flat rate below that, so on mid-sized orders the delivered price is often close or in our favor. Run both carts for your actual order.

Which has the later same-day cutoff?

We do — noon Eastern. Plans4Less publishes an 11 AM cutoff on some pages and 2 PM ET on others; confirm on their site. An extra hour matters when a permit set finishes at 11:30.

Why does location matter for an online printer?

UPS Ground transit time is set by distance. From Cape May County, NJ we're one zone from NJ, NYC, Long Island, eastern PA, Delaware, and most of Maryland — next business day by Ground, no air upgrade. A shop farther away needs two Ground days to reach the same addresses, or you pay for expedited.

Should I just pick the cheaper one?

If you're outside the Northeast and placing a large flat order with a flexible deadline, Plans4Less's lower sheet price may win on the invoice. If you're in NJ/NY/PA/DE/MD, or your deadlines are tight, our noon cutoff and next-day Ground are worth more than 25¢ a sheet. We'd rather tell you that than pretend the price gap doesn't exist.
