East Coast Blueprints vs The UPS Store for blueprint printing

Short version: A UPS Store is a good answer for one or two sheets you need within the hour, and some locations price plans fairly. But every center sets its own price, so you have to call to find out. For full plan sets we are $2.00 a 24×36 everywhere, ship the same day, and send the set to the office, the job site, or every bidder.

Where The UPS Store wins

It’s down the street. There are UPS Store centers in most towns. If you need one sheet for a meeting this afternoon, walking in beats any shipping time.

Some locations price plans fairly. UPS Store prices are set by each franchise owner. One California location publishes $2.65 a 24×36 for small runs, which is close to ours. If your local store is one of those and you only need a few sheets, it’s a fair option.

Where we win

One price, published, everywhere. A 24×36 line-work plan sheet is $2.00 on every order, and the price is on the pricing page and at checkout before you pay. The UPS Store location pages we checked ranged from $2.65 to $9.54 for the same sheet. One published no price at all.

Plan sets, not single sheets. Stapled sets, accordion fold to 8.5×11, coil-bound spec books, and 30×42 and 36×48 sheets, all at published prices.

Shipping built in. Order by noon Eastern and the set ships that afternoon. It arrives the next business day by UPS Ground anywhere from New York to Washington DC and Northern Virginia. Ground is $15 flat and free over $100, so you don’t print at one counter and then pay retail shipping at the same counter.

Many addresses in one order. Bid sets go to up to 20 addresses on one order, each box tracked separately. How bid set distribution works.

Who should still use The UPS Store

Anyone who needs a sheet within the hour. Homeowners printing one or two pages for a permit counter, if the local store is close and its price is reasonable. If you print plan sets more than a couple of times a year, check your PDF and compare the total.

Frequently asked questions

How much does The UPS Store charge to print blueprints?

It depends on the location, because every UPS Store is independently owned and sets its own prices. Of the location pages we checked in October 2026, one (Warson Woods, MO) listed $9.54 for a 24×36 at $1.59 a square foot, one (Nipomo, CA) listed $2.65 a 24×36 for 1–24 sheets, and one (Broomfield, CO) published no price and asked customers to call. Call your local store for its number.

Is The UPS Store cheaper than East Coast Blueprints?

Usually not for plan sets. Our 24×36 plan sheet is $2.00 on every order (a rendering or photo that covers a large part of the sheet, printed B&W, is $3.95), with 10% off at 25 sheets and free UPS Ground over $100. The lowest UPS Store price we found published was $2.65 a sheet; the highest was $9.54. A UPS Store wins when you need a sheet in the next hour and a store is nearby.

Can The UPS Store ship my plans for me?

Yes, they can pack and ship what they print at retail UPS rates. We print and ship in one order: UPS Ground is $15 flat, free over $100, and one order can go to up to 20 addresses, each box with its own tracking number.
